'Quaderni d'emigrazione' is a book series developed by La sisìle, a study group focused on local emigration. They will study emigration country to country, publishing a monograph for each foreign nation of destination.

 

Cover design draws from the rich photo archive that they are collecting - it's realy intresting, because often image quality is better than the present day. I drew on the right side a ticket, symbol of travel: in it are placed several informations, such as the dates of the research, the cities most affected by emigration and the destination flag.

 

I used an asymmetrical inner grid and full-size image to divide chapters. The last shelf mark, printed in negative, collects the list of emigrans showing place and dates.

 

Issue 001 is about Switzerland.
